Philosophy: Treherne Collegiate Institute believes that all students have an innate talent in the fine arts. Students need exposure to the various art forms, a chance to learn the basic skills, opportunities to practise, and venues to present these art forms. If we give students the opportunity to engage in the fine arts in their formative years, they may pursue these areas as careers or revisit these areas for leisure activities in their adult years. Treherne Collegiate is providing students with the opportunity to experience various artistic forms. We are offering students numerous programs in the arts area. These programs will be composed of mini-units, each ranging from 1 to 20 hours of fine arts study. Most will be provided in a workshop style, with a facilitator teaching the basic skills and the student being provided time to practise skills. Students will be able to choose from a wide variety of arts mini-units, including:
